In the Finnish langauge there is no gender and there are no articles. There is one word that means he/she (hän).

I speak and understand hindi, and as far as i can tell, there isn't a third gender. Don't trust me completely on this though because i haven't studied the language intensively. I know for a fact that Sanskrit has a third gender though.

Well, given my understanding of the hirja, they may have originated while Sanskrit was still used... THough hey lost a lot of their status with the British empire.
