Some Olympic Ponderings

Trampoline, synchronized swimming, and rhythmic gymnastics, while all requiring athletic abilities, are not sports.  They are arts.  Ballet is just as physically demanding, but it is an art.  Therefore, I propose eliminating these sports and replacing them with a sport that will promote international diplomacy: cricket.  The major countries in ( Read more... )

Absolutely - they'd have to play limited-overs though, multi-day games really wouldn't fly at the Olympics given the number of teams who would likely play...

The International Cricket Council has already established one-day rules, especially for tournament play. They'd also need several fields, and probably start out with single eliminations, rather than the group system some sports use.

YES! I love you Katie! I agree! I think it's brilliant! Cricket for all! And, in case of a zombie outbreak, the Olympics would be properly equipped!
