Why New Masquerade is a bad idea

I have been thinking on this a whole lot lately, about the Cam's move to bring back Masquerade.  The more I think about it, the more I see it as a desperate attempt to bring back old Cam members and all around a really bad idea.

I honestly see Requiem dropping off after a few months of Masquerade starting. Mechanically it is easier to follow then Requiem and for storytellers, they have less setting work to do as the basics are already there and it works!

And clan Gangrel has always been more unified in NWOD then any other clan/covenant/coterie/faction etc. It's quite impressive to see at a convention game, especially coming from the Invictus meeting.

Where Requiem thrives is the ability to be a snowflake. You have all the different bloodlines and Masquerade doesn't have that to the same degree. I have a feeling it will take Masquerade six months or so to adjust to the fact that too many snowflakes is a bad thing.

I can see your point. Chris P made the same sort of argument over AIM. If there is interest, why not offer it?

It's a tough one to argue with, so I don't think I will. I'm probably going to give the game a shot, and I hope it's excellent.
