School stuff.

The school board is full of a bunch of crooks. At least the Pulaski district is. We were told that the requirements to graduate in Little Rock were the same as Pulaski. To graduate I needed to have a semester of 11th English, a semester of 12th english, a semester of computer applications, a P.E. class, a semester of geometry, and a speech class. ( Read more... )

and more hate, school, graduating, hate

Fucking hell, that sucks. ;____;

It might be stress-wreck, but what about simultaneous night courses?

I hate it when schools throw you a curveball..and they will, too, because they all live in their little separate school district worlds. They only care about their people and their rules...it freaking sucks ( ... )

Yeah, I've heard horror stories about college credit transfer screwups. It's terrible! :(

I'm really not set on going to UNA. It's just sort of there, and I know people around there... It's familiar, that's the word. That's pretty much the only reason I'm going. I'm thinking about moving somewhere else though, possibly to Nashville or Auburn? I have no idea. I'm so unprepared.

Thank goodness I won't have to deal with dorms, thanks to my awesome pappy who is willing to pay for an apartment as long as I stay in college full time! woo!

But yeah.. I will probably end up just getting my GED. people seem to have mixed feelings on it, and others are dead set that it is either the dumbest thing you could do, or that it's better than nothing, or that it is just as good as a diploma. Who knows. :(((((((

There's the UNA apartments on Cedar St. that are pretty nice. You don't have to be married (can be), but you have to be a full time student, and the two roommates have to be the same gender.

It's just under 200 bucks a month with two people. And unlike a dorm, you have a room to hide in if you can't stand your roommate. ;)

there's nothing wrong with a GED. one of the smartest girls in my graduating class had to drop out her senior year b/c she was sick and took it. i know the idea is frustrating since you feel like you would have been wasting your time, but all you can do is move forward. don't regret what choices you made! you made them for a reason and everything happens for a reason even if we don't get it. the time you've spent these past few years hasn't been a waste ( ... )

I am so, so sorry that Parkview didn't work out for you. That whole credit-transfer thing is shady as all hell. I agree with those who said you should head towards getting your GED instead. Where you went to high school really doesn't matter, as long as you have at least a diploma or a GED.

Good luck, Chelsea. And again, I am so sorry about all of this!

GEDs, as my friend is learning, isn't the best thing in the world. A lot of careers will not accept a GED without efficient college credits to back it up. Some places with local governments or servicemen flat out will not accept a GED. Such places as the police department and fire department ( ... )
