Deutscher Sprachrat

Today I was going through the Deutscher Sprachrat web site and found a list of the five most beautiful words in the German language. I'm going to put the real definitions under a cut, but would be curious to see what the non-German speakers think these words mean before you look at the answers ( Read more... )

:-) I deciphered the last one without looking at the definitions; "rhabarbermarmelade" is really fun to say aloud, too.

As for my guesses, the first one I thought "to have", but came up with little else. I was thinking "keiten" was something more specific. Lieben I vaguely remembered from a past course, Augenblick and Geborgenheit I had no clue.

I got the last three! We say augenblick quite a bit in my house. :)

I think its amazing that we started Elem. German I together, and now youre TEACHING German! Thats so neat. (Sorry, my apostrophe key is stuck)
