I love my parents. In general, I feel very close to my family indeed. Which is a good thing since the whole yonica clan was visiting collectively over the last two weeks (with an overlap where ELEVEN people were staying in a two-bedroom house for three nights). Made only more awkward by the fact that I had not yet really unpacked everything

Ugh. I hate tearing down wallpaper. It sucks.

As far as the other stuff goes, you're probably being too hard on yourself. What you perceive as a slight or an underappreciation on your part of your friends, is probably not even a blip on some people's radar screens. As you mentioned, friends tend to be more forgiving than others...
