The Yonsei University Student Government is announcing its upcoming summer fair entitled SUMMER SPLASH 2012 being held on July 31 to August 4. Fun and games await everyone as well as special performances from Yonsei's very own and invited guests.
Event and activity booths are still open for sponsorship! Interested parties may send their proposals to yonsei_sg@gmail.com. You may also contact our Student Government headquarters at 2228-5800 loc. 221. We are looking forward to make this five-day event fun and memorable, and you being part of it is a must!
SHOW STINGER: "Grab that phone and give us a call, it’s the Friday Free-For-All!”
So who else is excited for this summer fair!? I know I am! Knowing how Yonseians are so resourceful and fun in thinking up ideas for booth activities, I am definitely looking forward to what you guys come up with this time around. I do hope we have those inflatable obstacle courses again, you know… the one where you can duel with someone else using a big foam mallet? I’m not saying if I got beat up last year or not… *chuckles* …but that was really fun.
And yes, interested booth sponsors, please contact our Student Government office as soon as possible so you could get all those activities approved. I trust you guys have a handful of new ideas to show all your fellow Yonseians, so get to it! Palli! (Hurry!) *laughs*
Before the short break you were able to listen to three new songs from T-ara called Day by Day, followed by The Wondergirls feat. Akon with Like Money and lastly 2NE1 with I Love You. Thank you ladies for making the first half of our show

Everyone at the Sigma Kappa House is tuned in to your show right now, and we love it! Can we request any Big Bang song, please, and thank you!
Sigma Kappa ladies, you are in luck because my TRIPLE TREAT today is actually *canned drumroll* Big Bang! *canned applause* *laughs* I’m overdoing it, aren’t I? My goal is to use all these nifty sound effects our kind sound technician prepared for us within one show… *laughter inside the booth* We’ll see just how much I can use today… but before that, here’s Friday Free-For-All’s TRIPLE TREAT, only here on Yonsei Campus Radio!

Flowers ♫ Emilie Simon
Robin Thicke feat. Pharell ♫ I Wanna Love You Girl
You just heard the song Flowers by Emilie Simon and I Wanna Love You Girl by Robin Thicke feat. Pharell, both songs requested by the lovely ladies of the Delta Phi Epsilon House. How are you doing over there right now, my dear sisters? I hope you’re all tuned in like you promised! Of course before that we had Big Bang for our TRIPLE TREAT… I heard that Big Bang is so far the favorite for “Artist You Would Like to See Perform at the Yonsei Summer Splash 2012.” I can only imagine the chaos that will be the University Ampitheatre if they do come and perform for us!
It’s 3:45 PM right now and perhaps a perfect time to introduce FLASHBACK-TO-BACK, or one song interpreted by two different artists. We have The Beatles and Sarah McLachlan for today with the song Blackbird, but first a bit of trivia:
Sir Paul McCartney wrote Blackbird about the civil rights struggle for black people in the United States at that time-this song was first released in 1968-but eventually the “blackbird” in the song became a symbol for anyone who is struggling through problems or difficult situations. Its simple yet powerful and very meaningful lyrics coupled by the relaxing sound of guitar-playing made the song one of the most popular songs by the band, spawning several remakes through the years.
In 2002, Sarah McLachlan did a wonderful cover of this song as part of the movie soundtrack for “I am Sam,” a movie which I most definitely love. Really touching movie, and the soundtrack is all Beatles songs, what more could you possibly ask for, right?
Let’s slow down a bit for the meantime and listen to Blackbird by The
