So, we're off to Manchester International Airport tomorrow morning at 5:30. Flight doesn't actually leave until 10:30, but they want you there at least three hours early. Dumb? A little. Bleh

Chicago is a decently easy airport to get around, so if your first flight isn't running late, you should be fine. I actually like O'Hare, of the big airports.
Yeah, I've been through there a few times myself. I'm not worried about the flights so much as Immigration/Customs. At least I don't have too much to worry about in that respect. I should fly right through and head off to grab the luggage. It's ellyll getting through in due time that worries me. Then again, maybe Chicago's a bit more on the ball with that than Vegas is.
I think it has more to do with the sheer numbers coming through at one time. I have the same problem coming back this direction. Might have more trouble this time because we didn't get my indefinite leave to remain visa switched over to my new passport. The UK Border Agency SAYS it shouldn't be a problem, but our worry is that my new passport is the one that has the name change on it.
I'm sorry to say I've been where you are. It never stops being horrible, but it gets a lot easier to deal with as time goes on. I wish I could do something to make this easier for you, but all I can do is say that I'm thinking about you.
The only thing to really worry about is the weather, right now. It's kind of a snowy-icy rain here in Chicagoland this evening, so there may be some hangups for flights. Otherwise, it's not bad. Safe travels.
