Just some more links to interesting news reading in the world of web.
Before you switch off, don’t be fooled; though some stuff may go over your head, this is a good reading for anyone. ;)
InfoSec, a conference for the computer security world, has both been and gone, and
a story from the BBC reveals the true extent of the problems we’re facing on the modern web. This also goes back to a discussion that I was having with a colleage regarding
the previously posted article on the ever harder problem of dealing with JavaScript malware. The proper securing of pages was a topic of conversation, given some of the things discussed in the article.
I guess noone remembers 644 anymore? Similarly
the people’s republic seem to be throwing a hoo-haa about the open web again. Prehaps this is to cover up certain
potentially damaging protests relating to further surpression of information/rights elsewhere in it’s borders? Or indeeed,
perhaps they’re just trying to save face? I have to say, I don’t like China’s policy or tactics, but I cannot say I appreciate many of the ones at work in ‘the free world’ either. At least from our point of view we do have a freedom to see that, and to try and do something about it, though many of us don’t.
Anyway, I hope it’s been helpful or informative in some way.
