We never did figure out what "smited" means, or whether or not he thinks "smited" gold is worth more than "non smited" gold.
What we did figure out is this: There are 16 ounces in a pound. One ounce of gold is worth around $382 USD. Two pounds of gold is 32 ounces of gold. 32x382 = 12224
Steve considers his own worth to be less than $13,000.
