Things fall apart...

The centre cannot hold...or at least the soles of my shoes cannot. I set out one morning in one of my few pair of nice shoes, got about a block away from home, and had the soles of both shoes fall right off! As in, they both detached completely from the rest of the shoe! I've never had that happen before, which I suppose is somewhat surprising,
