I was messing around and melting silver with a MAAP torch like I had done countless times before, only before I had done it in the summer. Recriminations aside, I'm surprised that there's a significant difference in the reactions between silver hitting a mould that's (roughly speaking) 2,000 or 2,040 degrees colder than itself.
