A little different today

You may have already seen these on my site recently, but I thought I'd post them here anyway.  These were small watercolors done for Fashion illustration.  The assignment was to redesign the three face cards (King, Queen, and Jack) however you wanted.  I chose to have them as bums.  Really tried to push the attitude and props of each individual

I agree with all that was said and then some. Do you thicken up your water colors with some other medium? I really do like how solid the imagery is.

I just mix them with water. if you use the tubes, you can get pretty dark deep colors with less water.

the most exciting part for me is actually going back into the pale, washy colors, and bringing out the darks in the creases, nostrils, in between the fingers, etc. it really gives it another dimension. it's also the funnest part.
