Considerations.

[Warden filter]You know, I fucking hate warden politics. I try to stay out of this shit as much as I can but there are somethings I just can't let go on. For those of you who don't know, I was an inmate before I was a warden, [Like that wasn't evident in your last post, Parker.] and because of that, I find myself on one side of an issue more often ( Read more... )

paker hates the barge, parker actually cares about people, a nicotine patch the size of a doormat, parker hates everyone, sick of this shit, so being a warden? sucks

Depending on who is going, I would be okay with that.

Thanks, Parker.

How long did that vodka last?

About two nights when I got down to it. Coming back from port and then all this bullshit with the Nygma.

Fuck, um, politics. No one ever gets it right.

I'll play, but why do you need a barrel of scotch?

Agreed. There are times when I just want to fucking knock everyone's head together.

Because it sounds like a good idea.

A vote of no confidence against any Warden would be ineffective. We can't realistically take anything from him that the Admiral gives to all of us. People who don't trust him any more will refuse to help him or acknowledge him even if there isn't a vote, and people who do won't be swayed by a majority opinion.

If anyone is going to be looking for punishment for anything Nygma did, then it should be Snape or Mozenrath. Although I don't know the full situation, I don't understand why either of them indulged his investigation to the point of making private filters available to the Wardens, or submitted to anything more invasive. They both had the choice to refuse all of his requests for more information.

Besides which, we aren't a prosecution service. We can't seek punishment on behalf of the Barge as a whole when we have no definition of right and wrong beyond the absolute basics. If the actual victims consider the matter over, as far as I'm concerned, it's over. I don't want to be accused of rubber stamping anything, but I ( ... )

Warden Filter-Strikes unreadable. Parker is trying to be diplomatic. you_run_i_chase July 24 2011, 16:45:33 UTC
Are you fucking kidding me? Did you fucking read the filters?

It's about a lot more than Snape, Mozenrath, Boston and Shego. It's about setting a precedent. It's about more than just this incident.

Parker, I just don't see why you're pursuing this. Who, realistically, is going to speak out in favour of having their and their Inmates' right to privacy violated because another Warden doesn't trust their word? We already know that this is unacceptable, but the fact remains that when these issues come up they are always such different situations and so beset by complicating circumstances that they have to be dealt with on a case-by-case basis for the same reason that a court of law doesn't always hand out the same sentence for the same charges.

On this instance, it is about them, and if they consider the matter settled then so do I. And if the same thing should ever happen to Rinzler or any Inmate I have in future, then I would want that case dealt with on its own merits as well - I would rather do that than look to a precedent which I might not agree with or which might not be appropriate to the situation. I'm sorry if that makes me seem negligent.

Because someone fucking should, Tosh. Because someone fucking should so that it's out there that we're collectively not going to stand for this shit.

Decided to stay, after all?

For the moment. We'll see how this fucking goes.

I don't believe giving Nygma the proverbial 'cold shoulder' is really going to help the situation.

But you're right about having to protect the inmates from the degree of harassment that Mozenrath endured. We should be allowed, if agreed upon by the warden population (or at best, given how this system works, no objections) to restrict access of the offender through the network.

Noted. Too bad we'll never work together enough to see that it happens.

[Parker is trying her best to hold her temper. She really, really, really just wants to hit something small and cute at the moment.]
