Birthday Eve

Jul 24, 2006 19:00

Well, 5 hours left of my teenage life. I've been trying really hard in the past few weeks--and specifically in the past few days--to be as angsty as possible, so as to appropriately use up my last oppurtunities for "teen angst." Unfortunately, it just hasn't been happening. My last few days before the big 2-0 have been the opposite of angsty. ( Read more... )

Thanks! It really is a good show. Sometimes I feel bad that I watch it all the time and laugh at these people who are actually real people. But then I remember that they bring it upon themselves, and also that they bring joy to so many (including me). So I think it's all good.

I don't know what's going to happen (x16)

Oh man, ice cream cone came out my nose due to my laughter. I can be angsty about the pain.

Remember the time we had this IM conversation:

Me: I am so full of angst and dark tunnels with no light in sight.
You: I wish I had some bovine lovin'.
Me: Yeah, those fine bovines.
Me: I'm still angsty.
You: Don't be. You are my gypsy moth. My tinkerbell. MY ALIEN.

That was a good time. Just like the time the elevator went up to the 8th floor and then to -12th and then the 13th. Spooky.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LING!

<3 Jackie

P.S. I am thinking of changing my major to marine biologist artist. I know that I've wasted so much time on English/Elementary Ed./Linguistics, but, hey, I don't want to end up like some OTHER people I know who want to kill themselves over their REAL jobs. And nice house. And loving family.
Any thoughts? Philosophy? Self-indulgence? Exploding submarines?

I remember that night, when we had that IM conversation. I remember because I was experiencing some surreal paralysis, and I could NOT lift my hand (except to type). That night, I didn't sleep at all, not even for 36 hours, and my mom cried. She said to me, "Shelley, you are a daughter of mine for 19 years and all I want is for my baby to be asleep for 36 hours." Swear to god, that's a direct quote. Actually, I don't even remember because I was starting to lose it.

(Why do people think I'm crazy?)

I think you should stick to marine biologist artist. Follow your heart. Plus, you're so good at marine biologist artist that you could TEACH marine biologist artist.

Happy almost-birthday my Ching! Let's hang out on Wednesday (AFTER 6, you know I have my Gilmore Girls before then.... damn, tv rots your brain).

AFTER 7 we should hang out. You know, school and all. Why do I even bother with college? Maybe my parents will send me to New Zealand if I don't drop out.

TV does indeed rot your brain. GAS knows this. Go and play, kids. No, this is not video time. Play time.

Oh, here's my work schedule for the next three years:
Monday: 4-10
Tuesday: 9-4
Wednesday: 2-10
Thursday: 12-10
Friday: a full 24 hours
Saturday: Forever
Sunday: Until the Apocalypse
I'LL BE AT MILLER'S COUNTRY STORE 114 WATER STREET PLYMOUTH MASSACHUSETTS UNITED STATES OF AMERICA NORTH AMERICA WESTERN HEMISHERE BLUE GREEN BALL IN CASE ANYONE WANTS TO STALK ME. Just so you know.

I'm gald you aprove my choice of career (It's either that or children's game show host), but you should really sleep more. Maybe take some pills. Talk to your dad or something.

Dr. Stahl: Oh my beloved Shelley, my love, my light, you need to sleepeth more oft' or th'crushing blows of fatigue shall hinder thine waking hours.
Shelley: Hey, dad, you remembered my name!

I read this before I went to bed.
And I had a dream that I was listening to The Hills theme song, and I got excited because I could tell you that I liked it.
Yes, your live journal entry was in my dream.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You are now 20 and can no longer be angsty for a day in your life.

I'm so glad the hills theme song was in your dream. I myself have dreamed of the hills theme song.

I know. The angst is very quickly dissipating. It's one of the perks of 20.
