Summary: Cas has been leaving Sam gifts and it's time Sam confronted the timid angel
The flowers first showed up on top of his closed laptop in the middle of the night. It’s just one, small paper flower folded with clean precision and Sam wouldn’t have noticed it until the morning if the security lights didn’t light up the table as he made his way towards the bathroom. He gingerly picked up the flower and smiled. He set it in his bag before Dean noticed and he shuffled to the bathroom and back to bed without giving a second thought to who left it there.
After a few weeks, the flowers were left on his seat in the Impala and in places that only Sam would find and before Dean would show up. That’s when he stood waiting outside the bar waiting for the next flower to be placed on the seat.
Castiel showed up, ringing his hands nervously and his head counting his footsteps and he ran right into Sam in the process. “Sam!”
“Hey, Cas.” Sam grinned down at the angel. “What cha doing here?”
Cas’s hands went immediately to his pockets and he toed at the ground, “Nothing. Just making sure everything is safe.”
“What’s in your pockets?” Sam watched as Castiel backed up and swallowed from his nerves.
“Nothing.”
“Really?” Sam stepped close enough to breath in Castiel’s scent and Sam almost forgot what he was doing before he slipped a hand in Castiel’s trench coat pocket and pulled out a paper flower. “I thought these were from you.”
Castiel blushed from the tips of his ears to his neck, “I’m sorry.”
Sam placed his finger tips at Castiel’s chin and nudged Castiel’s face upwards to meet his gaze. “Don’t be. I kind of like you.”
“But not my flowers.” Castiel’s eyes shifted downwards and Sam gave a soft smile before his hand shifted to cup Castiel’s face
.
“I like your flowers, Cas.” Sam gave a small chuckle before leaning in to whisper the rest of his words against Castiel’s lips. “I just happen to like you a lot better.”
Castiel pressed his lips against Sam’s, his hand coming up to cover Sam’s. His lips moved and opened against Sam’s, tasting and exploring the hunter’s mouth. He shifted closer to Sam, pressing his hips tight against Sam’s. “You taste like heaven.”
Sam grinned against Castiel’s lips, “That’s exactly what I was thinking.”
