Coca Cola discontinued Vanilla Coke in December and replaced it with Black Cherry Vanilla.

I've been making DIY vanilla Cokes by using Torani vanilla syrup.

Yes it does. The trick is to find the right balance between the Coke and the syrup. I use about 1oz of syrup in 12oz of Coke. You can adjust it to your own tastes. Also, always pour the syrup into the Coke, not vice versa.

Lemon Coke and Vanilla Coke have been of the DIY variety for so long that there have got to be recipes online or something. I know lemon myself: squeeze a lemon wedge into a glass until it tastes right. I imagine that plain old vanilla would work for vanilla coke.

Hey, I actually didn't know that Vanilla Coke was discontinued. I mean, the Kum & Go here in Albia still has it. I just got one tonight. Maybe it's just the last few bottles left around Albia, I don't know. lol. BTW, just so it doesn't creep you out that this random person is commenting, it's Sara A. Kelly's friend.
