for the night is dark | katherine | 1/2 youcallitwinter June 10 2012, 19:41:06 UTC

This is the way world ends.
This is the way world ends.
This is the way world ends.
(not with a bang but with the remembered cry of her daughter fading into the distance as she runs. Runs from Klaus. Runs from the promise that could have been his brother. Runs from being blood that wasn’t frozen and flesh that wasn’t cold to the touch. Runs).

There is only one real difference between the girl who was Katerina Petrova and the woman who is Katherine Pierce.

(She won’t let you know anyone know it though. Because that would mean something. And if there’s one thing you should know about Katherine Pierce, it’s that whatever it is, it doesn’t mean anything. And if you think it does, then that’s exactly what she wants you to think.)

If they were writing books, they’d think the Salvatores were special. Something out of the ordinary. A place where her unbeating heart stuttered and her steps faltered.

She wants Damon Salvatore less because he loves her more.

“Careful, Mr. Salvatore, I think you might just have slipped there.” she breathes into his ear ( ... )

HOLY HELL. How do you even DO this? Reading your fic makes me never want to write again. This is a compliment of the highest order.

Because that would mean something. And if there’s one thing you should know about Katherine Pierce, it’s that whatever it is, it doesn’t mean anything.

Hello, Katherine. Perfect characterization is perfect. No rules, Stefan. Amazing.

because he’s the boy who writes poetry in his head and recites it in golden tongues with eyes of melting blue and means what he says

OH MY GOD, THIS. The boy who means what he says. Amazing.

He’s reflects too much of a girl she once used to know, most days she doesn’t let him touch her and compels his brother instead, because she has always hated mirrors.

YOU AND YOUR MIRRORS, Zoe. Flawless.

He will always share as long as it means he gets to keep a piece of his brother alongside.

ACTUALLY DYING. Perfection.

And she’s never going to end with a happily ever after. She is never going to end.

Jaw on the floor at this point. How do you do fic.

They’ll never be her ( ... )

WHO ARE YOU EVEN WITH THIS COMMENT LONGER THAN MY FIC. GET OUT.

And then I will flood the world with tears so please do not step out of my life ever.

I have written Katherine ONCE before and she is far too flawless for me to attempt usually, so I am so glad the characterization worked for you. I think Katherine is fascinating because we never really got to see her transition. We saw Katerina and we saw Katherine, but we never exactly saw HOW Katerina became Katherine. After all, there had to be a whole bunch of moments, not just one grand all-defining moment. And after all Katerina had to have something in her to choose survival over sacrifice. GUH, MOAR KAT SHOW DD:

Thank you so much! AND NO, GOOD WRITING SHOULD NEVER NOT MAKE YOU WANT TO WRITE AGAIN D: (what is that use of negatives even). When I read something I like, I always feel like writing immediately! (I don't because the piece will probably turn out a carbon copy of what I have read, but it always makes me want to try!)

She wants Stefan Salvatore more because he loves her less.
“Your brother does not do you justice,” she says. Trails her hand down with practiced innocence. “He is always trying to stop me from coming in your room. He is rather possessive of me I'm afraid”

“Damon doesn’t share.” Stefan says, his breathing even. It intrigues her. This calm.

“And do you, Mr. Salvatore? Do you share?”

He looks down at her, and she knows it already. He will always share as long as it means he gets to keep a piece of his brother alongside.

“No,” he says.

She thinks he’ll survive.

If they were writing books, they’d think the Salvatores were special. Something out of the ordinary. A place where her unbeating heart stuttered and her steps faltered. They’d be wrong. But that’s the thing about fairy-tales. They’re always wrong because they end with a happily ever after. And she’s never going to end with a happily ever after. She is never going to end.

“Want me to play Elena for a bit so you can stop being pathetic for a little while and ease off your sexual frustration ( ... )

Oh my god how do you write so beautifully so fast. Stop it, I hate you.

And she’s never going to end with a happily ever after. She is never going to end.

This is my favourite thing in the history of things.

WOWWWWWW!

Stop it, you. It's rude to be so good at stuff.

ANYWAY, THIS! THIS IS EXACTLY MY HEADCANON ON KATHERINE!!!! WHY WE NO SHARE HEADCANON ON OTHER THINGS?!

Also today you are churning out all my favourite lines in the history of everrrr

And she’s never going to end with a happily ever after. She is never going to end.

Her boys are naïve; they do not understand that Elena is a role Elena plays.

Haha, I AM MAKING USE OF MY TIME IN MIDDLE OF PLAYING ANGRY BIRDS. :D

Oh, I'm so, so glad! But no, seriously, you're one of the people who really has thoughts on Katherine apart from the 'Katherine is flawless', so I think it's awesome that it sort of fits your headcanon, very privelegious (that should be a word) :D

WE SHOULD WORK AT SHARING MORE HEADCANON D:

WORD MOLE REMAINS THE BEST SMARTPHONE GAME THAT EXISTS!

But I heartily approve of the choice!

EEEEE - you flatter! I agree, though! People don't ever seem to get passed the fact that Pierce is fierce. I mean, she is, indubitably! But that's not like... All!

YES WE SHOULD! ;D

WELL THAT IS TRUE. I HAVE SPENT A LIFETIME PLAYING WORDMOLE ON MY BLACKBERRY NEGL D:

That is true! I suppose Katherine is so amazing that nobody feels the need to go beyond that because its a usually accepted opinion so no one has to ~defend it, unlike in case of almost all the other characters. But she really IS so much more!

PARFAIT

“And what a lovely fall it is Ms. Pierce,” he says, because he’s the boy who writes poetry in his head and recites it in golden tongues with eyes of melting blue and means what he says, “if it were in my power to die now, I would, to make this moment stretch forever.”

L M F A O. Glorious.

He’s reflects too much of a girl she once used to know, most days she doesn’t let him touch her and compels his brother instead, because she has always hated mirrors.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS BEAUTY SKDJF;DKSLJF;DSKLJF;SD

And she’s never going to end with a happily ever after. She is never going to end.

Oh.

Someday she will tell him the effect is somewhat spoiled by the fact that he is still the first one to speak. Always.

OH. THIS IS KATHERINE (I know, everyone's said it before me, I am late as always, but seriously. THIS IS KATHERINE AND EVERYTHING IS SO BEAUTIFUL.)

Runs).

This is gorgeous, with your repetitions and parentheses and running. I love that the promise could have been his brother, because yes, she'll always want one of them more, but it's still ALWAYS about the both of them, never one Salvatore without the other.

(She won’t let you know anyone know it though. Because that would mean something. And if there’s one thing you should know about Katherine Pierce, it’s that whatever it is, it doesn’t mean anything. And if you think it does, then that’s exactly what she wants you to think.)

THIS. Katherine, never ( ... )
