Thanks. It's so easy to feel sorry for Flick sometimes.

Oh the perils of getting drunk!! but yes, poor poor Flick, so desperate for Seel to love him and see him as more than a housekeeper.
What an image though; seel, cal and pell clad only in leather pants at breakfast*phew* :)

My favorite scene in this chapter--and poor Flick desperatelu wanting to keep his shirt on! It's so damned hot in New York City again today, that I certainly am feeling very smpathetic of Flick. (At least the humidity must have be lower at Saltrock.) Looking at those gorgeous shirtless hara too!

Yep, that's quite the visual. And poor Flick can't even appreciate it fully because he's so worried about the tattoo.

This was such a joy to read!! I've always loved that time period and the dynamics between the characters early on at Saltrock. And I always felt for Flick and was glad when he finally found happiness.

I really hope you'll be posting more in the future. Thanks for a great read!

Glad you liked it. The Saltrock period is very interesting to me as well. I like the idea of these hara trying to build a safe haven, but not really having a great place to put it or all the resources they might need. Hopefully, I'll be able to update soon. Thanks for reading.

aw, if only Flick had stood up to Seel more often! but i kind of love that "I want pancakes" part. it's so mean, but so funny. and kind of adorable, too.

i think it's interesting how in some ways Flick and Seel are so similar at that point. both are so hopelessly in love with someone who can't, or won't, love them in the same way, both have let themselves feel manipulated and used because of it. Seel just compensates by insisting he doesn't care.

I think Flick and Seel are actual similar in several ways. I think Cal even tells Flick this at one point but Flick doesn't believe him. I think that they have similar values, work ethic (even though Seel calls Flick lazy, I don't think he is), and probably come from similar backgrounds

But of course, Flick is sort of introverted and Seel is more outgoing and Seel is very direct during this period whereas Flick is a little more polite -- which is where some of the tension between them comes in, I think.

Thanks for reviewing!

you're right! i'd completely forgotten about that. it has to be in the second series. they do have quite a few characteristics in common, i got that impression even in the first book. interesting dynamics between the two of them.

there's a lot of good Wraeththu fic around lately! it's making me want to read the books again. as if i wasn't already behind on the pile of books yet to be read.

i hope to see the next chapter soon!
