The green one is just an average "cartilage" (helix) piercing; the silver is a "forward helix". They felt different than the normal lobe ones simply because it wasn't done with a piercing gun, they used a needle. It felt like a pinch with a bit more pressure and the forward bled the most of all of them. They were tender just for a couple days and I can't even feel them now. They will heal up nicely as long as you clean them properly with antibacterial soap and water a few times a day.
Check out this site for some great info on different types and some fantastic jewelry. I get most of mine from there now instead of Claire's or wherever because the metals are actually not cheap.
A good friend of mine has two or three lobes that are gauged (stretched out), an industrial, a conch, a forward helix, two tongues, her cheeks and an earl. It works for her, but I wouldn't go that far. I am going to get an industrial, though, and that'll be it. Five holes in each ear is enough for me. ;o)
