awesome, congrats! I stayed at I think all of the HI hostels in the city (or maybe just 2 of 3? I thought we'd stayed at all of them but I only remember two now so maybe they let us stay longer at the second one). my friend Felicity worked at one outside the city so she and a guest stayed free. I haven't talked to her in a while but she's maybe living in the city now, I should email her, she'd like your animations. this one I definitely stayed at and it was good, if surrounded by sketchy neighbourhoods. no more sketchy than Winnipeg. how long are you going for?
hey thanks laura!! i will probably stay at one of the HIs. i'll only be there for 4 days and 3 nights. i'm pretty excited!!! though i wish clint would come with me
Congratulations, Leslie! This is incredible news!!! I wish I knew a thing 'er two about SF, but sadly I don't. Sorry I can't offer any suggestions other than the couch surfing website... I've never tried it personally, but a friend in Aberdeen hosts people that way, and has stayed with others. She says it works well in that people who do it are kind travelers and are honest in how the give feedback... Just an idea. OR, maybe you could consider hosteling international? You've probably already thought of that, though... congrats again!
thanks milena!!! but bad news, looks like the trip will be too costly for me anyway--i'm just not prepared to spend anything right now on a 4 day trip--i'll just have to wait for something else to come!
