maybe he thought dying would be easier/ better on acid? that's what I would assume.
my friend Paul gave me this rant about how Died Young, Stayed Pretty seemed really contrived before it was released, he was unimpressed with the clips he'd seen and it was all people who were certainly not dead and still working, getting really nostalgic about 'back in the day', which was, like, 2004. so I decided not to see it. but we both saw the other similar film that now I can't remember the name of at the film festival in September and liked it a lot. it'll come to me eventually.
i think the died young bit is not supposed to be taken literally about the artists. the film did show work from the early 90s - present in north america. it would be a whole different film if it were about dead graphic artists all over the globe from the 60s and 70s--so it might be worth the watch if interested in a specific group of graphic arts. u should watch it!
