nicole wrote an entry about people who do not tip at leo's.
someone. anyone. explain to me why i should tip the counter person at leo's.

if they should be making tips, i should be making 15%.

edit: i continue to delete all comments having nothing to do with the question or the answer.

pshh they can tip my butthole.

they are usually rude and they aren't going out of their way to do anything that isn't in their job description

umm, because we don't just serve pizza, dude. we do a lot of shit. the tips don't go to just counter people. we split it up between the whole crew. we get 6 an hour. which isn't 6.50 like i thought. plus we have to run back and forth from cafe to pizza to stick our hand into a 600 degree oven. call orders. take orders over the phone. deal with those stupid gator food people. clean. stock. people are in charge of making pies. counter people make all the rolls ourselves.

do you not get tips at your work?

we don't just collect money, you know. i thought that you would know that coming from a cafe-based job.

i worked 10 hours without a break yesterday. i don't get breaks.

yeah, and that sounds like what you get paid $6.00 an hour to do. work. you don't get paid $6 just for being there.

i'm not trying to be an asshole about it, but you can take it any way you want to.

my point stands.

yeah, if you want a job which provides you the comfort of not relying on tips in order to make anything more than $6 an hour....why aren't you in school?

I am inclined to agree with you. If I get exceptionally friendly service or something along those lines I would be more than happy to TIP (which by the way means "to insure promptness). If someone did something out of their job description ie. bring me my food, of course I would TIP. But if all that is done is pretty much the same thing that happens in a mall food court, forget it. I can do without the bitchy attitudes. I work hard doing physical labor and we dont get or even ask for TIPs. I love my job despite pay for atmosphere. You want to make more than $6 an hour get another job.

i only got $5.50 to do the same exact thing and didn't get tipped. i mean, we HAD a tip jar, but everybody thought it was 'take a penny, leave a penny.' people at most fast foods places do all that stuff without tips and still make better food. i suppose it's understandable to ask for tips just because, but nobody in that situation is entitled to tips.
