a) hide somewhere secure and wait? keep in mind that you don't know how long this will last.
b) try to escape? keep in mind that you don't know if there are any other people left.

if there's anything i've learned from watching The Simpsons, it's that you should make your way to the school library, shotgun in tow, to find a book (in the occult section) that will send the zombies back to their graves..where hilarity will ensue:

"Excuse me..I'm John Smith."
"John Smith 1882?"
"My mistake."

That's my fantasy! I'm totally prepared. I have all the necessary equipment (leather clothes, guns and ammo, hatchets, gas masks, maps, MRE's(Meals Ready to Eat), back road maps, flares, etc.). I have a destination to go (the keys). I'd kill every zombie in my path and dance in their blood. This day will happen. If I'm not one of them, I'm gonna kill them all. Oh sweet sweet joy.
