the photos don't even begin to do it justice. in particular, they don't capture the silence and the expanse. i could not recommend a trip out there more highly, particularly if you're finding stress in other aspects of life (i hope i'm not overstepping my bounds to say that). we also saw bison. !
You're not overstepping your bounds. Lives get stressful sometimes, and mine's dipped into its resevoir a bit. It happens. Silence and expanse sounds like exactly what I need; when I turn 25, I'll rent a car and take a roadtrip.
And bison! I've never even touched a cow (I saw a few from a window once or twice).
i used to think that the dakotas, montana, wyoming, colorado, and to some extent nebraska, kansas, and minnesota were some weirdo blob just west of chicago. i feel you.
Yeah! I know what you mean ... it always blew my mind that Wyoming was farther north than Colorado. And I always forget that Indiana is between Ohio and Illinois.
Wow...those look like they're fresh out of National Geographic. Almost makes me want to live in the Midwest. Or just...buy National Geographic and read it from the comfort of a noisy urban home.
