Gah, sorry! I was working from the templates of the famitsu site instead of an actual RPG Maker VX sheet, which would've been the actual smart thing to do. A+ job, me.
I have only ever used RM2K but anything I can help with code-wise, let me know! the secret to Dating Sims is obviously dialogue response options, and the best way to work it out is to flowchart your dialogue so you know which responses add $love and at what $love level those responses change and what $love level is required for good or bad endings.
obvs since I know nothing about Homestuck I am useless in all other areas.
notes! creating rooms a character can walk between is super easy, it's just setting a few squares in a row on the edge of the screen to auto-teleport, no prompts (and the same in the new room). also because your chicken has random movement and its description automatically appears whenever it bumps into the MC, I was annoyed by it super-fast.
