Reflection of thanks to God

Nov 02, 2005 15:57

During this Thanksgiving month, I encourage everyone to take time out of each day (if you don't already do this) and thank God for something wich has been graced or blessed to you. I have started making a list personally. I started it the 1st of this month; and will continue everyday to thank God for something he has bestowed upon me thoughout my ( Read more... )

"I love how God tucks little bits and pieces of beauty into the nooks and cranies throughout nature (his country) knowing that soals like me (that he created) pay attention and see them and feel them and appreciate them with emmense joy!"

I totally understand that. I sometimes feel like he put a little piece of nature in a particular way just for me. I know it's for everyone who appreciates it but there is something about nature that can seem so personally designed.

I so agree!!! (with BOTH of you!) and am so thrilled to find there are others who can become so entranced with the treasures offered in nature often in unexpected places.

Thank you, young aragorn, for such a profound and wonderful reminder! I love the freshness of my young friends!

I am thrilled that you appreciated it:) I am not suprised that you, or anyone else that reads my posts would enjoy it. But it is wonderful, and sometimes exactly what I need when you and other friends express it. "Sometimes our words link esspicailly to another person." An anon. quote that I feel expresses that. " Orginal sin, the true original sin is the blind destruction for the sake of greed of this natural paradise which lies all around us- if only we were worthy of it."- Edward Abbey, Desert Solitare.
Anyone who feel apart of the natural world like us, understands and feel the great pain that apart of the human race has done...Yet, there are still some stewards left, perhaps we will get out chance...I think we WILL, and soon. My we always remeber and teach what has happened.
I am also thankful of the wisdom, kindness, and quite gentleness that my eldar friends teach with. Hannaid le mellon nin:)

I love how we all teach and learn from each other...
I am currently reading Edward Abbey's book! It is so amazing. I read some of it out load to my residents and they loved it... the early story of how he and his fiance destroyed her brand new 1949? convertible driving over a closed road up and down through ravines...

We are thankful for a lot of things, but I wanted to say that we are thankful you are part of our lives. You definitely enrich our lives by being who you are.

Yes,
hennaid for all of that and so much more.

The young crow asking (ever so politely) for a snack as I step out the front door. (cutie!)
The sun illuminating a double web in the frame of my window. (I saw them spinning them, simutaneously!)
Some trees bursting into brightness and then sleeping, while their companions continue in green continuity.
Rocks glistening with a fresh wash.
And puddles. Wheeeee. (right, Daqas?)
The clouds swirling and twirling above the ocean's varied colours.
And in the mountains, the first snow falls, bright and white.

Bein le aen.
Eru meneg hennaid.
:)
Love and hugs,
~ Ren

Hennaid to you both. You are so kind!
It was just a little ditty that came in response to Estel's post (which includes some of my favourite subjects).

The film's name is "In Light of Reverence", and has a colletion of supporting essays: The Sacred Land Reader.
:)
Love and hugs.

Court- Hey. I have been thinking about what you wrote above. Your proposal to write down something you are thankful for everyday. (By the way, it would be cool if you shared that with us later...) At D-man's daycare they are putting turkey feathers on the turkey each day. That's cool. However, I struggle with this idea of holidays and them prompting us to do things that we should be doing; which is essentially what you are saying above. On one level, I know if I counted my blessings more often I wouldn't be as sad as I get sometimes. On the other hand, I see an even deeper connection to Creator when I am thankful for each second, each minute. Not thankful for things and images, but for the breath of life. Something connected inside of me rather than being connected and thankful for things outside of me ( ... )

Dude, so D-man and I were driving today and it was as if he heard me write what I wrote above in my head or could read and was reading it over my shoulder.... He said, "A blue car! YEAH!" He kept saying yeah about little things,it was cute. Like he was saying thanks for all these things. So I decided to tease him a little. I said, "a speck of dirt- and he said yeah; a leaf- and he said yeah...etc. and so on" It was so cool. All this yeah and thankful for things outside us- oh, ya, there was a window on a house in the distance; it was a cool house; and I said "window" and he said "yeah"... Interesting... He and I kinda "got into it" later but we are working it out now. We are tyring to reconnect. He wants to watch a surprise movie and he keeps hiding them behind his back. We are setting up for some family time and beading snakes (Beady babies.....)

Well, take care. We love you. K and D

Yea!
I love hearing my brother and my cousin talking like this. :)
I got the same help on that same road, Saturday, coming from my family gathering.
Hennaid, hy'shca, gunalcheesh, and thanks. Ya'at'eeh.
Schwowe, hennaid for the phrase about life and worthiness. I struggle with that, frequently.
Dman, you teach us all.
Yea!
Much love and many hugs.
