Business isn't about moneymaking.

Business is about pride in upholding the security of one's society.

Heh, idealistic. Security can be dealt with by the police force. They seem capable enough.

You won't get much business, telling people things like that. They've got to trust you and your product and they won't be trusting you very far if you're going about saying that a businessman protects his own interests.

Especially in a place like this.

You dare lecture me?Let me spell that out for you. A businessman's interest is not his product, because alone, it is useless to him. His interest is the customer, the person willing to trade his product for something that will be of value to him. Without the customer, the businessman is nothing.

The concept of economy was only introduced to the City four months ago.

All the better to start now.
Surely mostpeople here have an idea of economy in their world. If not now, when?

Healthy economies take generations to build up. Money rained from our sky four months ago and ever since then, the Citizens have been working. Prior to that the necessities of life were provided by the City itself.

So the Citizens are willing to subject their lives to the deities who have whims and desires?
I think there are people who are not willing.

My understanding is that the economy is incredibly new, thus the state of trade is "still growing".

Hmm. How long has the City been here?

badassbutler December 18 2007, 20:18:21 UTC
The City as a whole? I'm afraid I don't know, I'm a rather recent arrival myself.

So you are new to the economy, not the City.
