The poet, AlgySwinburne calls the sea our great mother. And Wordsworth there says The Sea that bares her bosom to the moon. Makes one wonder if they might be on to something.

Ah, I see what you mean, now! Yes, it is likely they were of similar minds when it came to the sea.

I cannot say that I return their perspective, however.
