I have an essay that you may find useful in this quest. The title is "Knightly Virtues for the Digital Age. It is at my LJ under the tag -Knightly virtues-. I hope it is useful to you.

A very interesting read, too. I was particularly delighted to encounter "magnanimity", something that recently leapt out at me while re-reading "Always Coming Home". I've often turned to Ursula K Le Guin, while doing the hard work of becoming a person:

"A bright imagination, a clear intellect, warmth, readiness, magnanimity, grace, and ease are wanted in the practices of gardening, farming, sharing food, caring for animals, cure, care, healing, and comforting, the arts of making order and cleanliness where people live and work, all dancing and delightful exercises, and all the arts and practices of making music, of speaking, of writing, and of reading aloud or socially."

I came across this today. 5 is particularly interesting to chew over.

"Five simple rules to be happy"

1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.

2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happens.

3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.

4. Give more.

5. Expect less from people but more from yourself.
