Remus, as he neared the entrance to the Library, saw Snape about to leave. A small amount of subtle maneuvering placed him directly in his path, blocking his exit.

"Talk or fight like gentlement," Remus hissed, giving no other acknowledgement of Snape. "I'll accept nothing less."

Severus' eyes narrowed slightly. "What if I don't care what you'll accept, Lupin?"

"Then we'll be doing this the hard way," Remus sighed. He had no idea how he'd back up that threat, of course, but there was no need for Snape to know that.

"Let's go back inside and discuss this, please-- it's so much easier if you just cooperate until I'm through."
