You're prefect, too? How excellent! Of course you were going to get it, though, your marks are some of the highest in the year.
Am, as I'm sure you know, at the top of some unnamed mountain in the Andes with Mother and Sirius. Sirius is teaching me to ski, which is a bit injurious but enjoyable nonetheless. It's the first time I've really gotten to spend time with him over holidays, so it's been quite interesting. Much nicer, when I don't have to lecture him about schoolwork, anyways.
Oh, speaking of schoolwork, I'm a bit stuck on that potions essay. Could you remind me (as I am at a severe lack of books currently) what wormwood's secondary properties are?
Miss you. Looking forward to seeing you. And this is one heck of a hardy owl you've got, that she made it this far. Do give her a bit of a break, won't you? Might make her less likely to bite my ear...
I suppose so. That's mostly because I do nothing but study, though. I'm hardly an authority figure.
That sounds like fun...
Wormwood, Remus. It's used for protections from wandering spirits, and it helps the dead escape this plane of existance and go to the next, or so it's said.
I miss you, too. Tala's fine, she's made longer excursions. I rather wish I was the one biting your ear, though...
I really, really hate to ask you this, but... erm... Do keep in mind that Sirius is both capable (and likely) of finding anything you send to me. I don't want any fights started, please. I do love hearing it, but... I just don't want trouble, you know. Sorry.
As for the wormwood-- but then isn't it also used in that drink... erm... the green one? Muggles drink it-- Edgar Allen Poe did. Isn't that a bit dangerous?
Sorry if this reply is a bit delayed-- Tala stayed long enough to steal half my dinner, the silly thing. Heavens knows she's perfectly capable of hunting for herself.

Oh, yes. Erm. That was...an insult, I think. Possibly.
Yes, absinthe. Wormwood also has extremely hallucinogenic properties, especially in absinthe, which is banned in most countries.
She's lazy when it comes to hunting.
