Severus knocked on the door of Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place, sighing a bit. He didn't really want to be here; he'd actually prefer to be in his room reading or writing to Remus. But he'd told Remus that he would, so here he was.

He waited for a little bit then knocked again.

Regulus laid his hand upon the thick panel of wood as the second impact of an unseen fist struck it from the other, as yet invisible, side. His eyebrows were partially elevated as he pulled open the heavy portal to reveal - the rather sallow and certainly unexpected figure of Severus Snape.

"Uhm- hello, Severus."

"Hello." Severus stood there rather awkwardly for a moment, watching the other boy. "Uhm...may I come in?"

After a momentary pause the Black stepped back from the doorframe, his bare feet clumsily sure and physically unblemished.

"Of course."

Regulus' brows were low-slung as he spread his arm out expansively in an accepting gesture that carried no particular warmth.

Severus nodded a bit and stepped forward, feeling more awkward than he'd even thought he'd feel. "How...um...has your summer been?" he asked, fishing around for any topic at all.
