Tom is out by the lake today, not because he enjoys tromping about in the snow, but because Ingress wanted to give the squids a Christmas present. It was wrapped very nicely in a box that smelled vaguely of the ocean. Tom doesn't really want to know what it is, as the possibilities are slightly terrifying. It's only the darkness of the coat that Carlisle wearing and his movement outside that keep him from not being a mirage in the snow.

(Even with it so gray outside, the snow makes it bright.)

He's outside for a bit of a think - the whole vampire situation in the bar (beyond the obvious ones) is starting to trouble him; Carlisle doesn't notice Tom before he notices the blue-haired girl on the ice and his eyes widen.

"Oh, hullo, Carlisle," he calls once he's squinted his eyes and peered long enough at the pale face to ensure it is indeed Carlisle.

"Enjoying the great blasted outdoors?" His voice is a little muffled from under the scarf, but it carries well enough.

Carlisle doesn't bother with covering his face with the scarf to keep warm, though it is wrapped tightly around his neck in a knot.

"Yes, actually," Carlisle returns, eyes still fixed on Ingress - "What is she doing?"

"Oh, she's giving the squids a Christmas present. She adopted Mr. Julia as family a long time ago and even helped rescued him when he was kidnapped from the lake. Don't worry; she's fine out there. I'm here to make sure she stays so."
