If I remember correctly, this would be the first of ours crashing over there.

Birds don't fly 15,000 ft. Neither do F-15Es. Most likely, he was between 8,000 - 20,000 ft, possibly lower. Whenever they are just flying around, there's no need to climb too high. Found out at work that what happened was a flock of birds came up, and fodded out an engine, catching it on fire. He extinguished the fire or tried or something, then punched out. Guess he wasn't man enough to try and land somewhere with only one engine.

You're kidding me he had a whole other engine? Shit he could have made it to Roanoke on just one engine couldn't he? Correct me if I'm wrong. Shit he could have even tried to have landed it in a big pasture or something lord knows there's enough of them in Franklin Co.

If he has no ordnance on board, he could travel as far as his fuel would allow. At least far enough to find an airstrip and land. The engines they use are Pratt Whitney 220's, which are the flagship engines of the business. Several aircraft around the world use only one of the same engine. Welp, there goes 45 million of our taxes!
