Author's Notes: set in an AU after GOF.
The aura he had gained, during the second war, had been quite a surprise for him. He had managed to evade Azkaban with the others, go undercover thrice and thrice hit like he never had before. He was still young, under forty like nobody else in the inner circle. He hadn’t burnt.
Witches loved it.
Sometimes Pettigrew tried to insult him saying he was like a Muggle secret agent (Fond or something- what a ridiculous idea, him and a- the man should be glad he hadn’t hexed him, out of that respect for his Dark Lord that came before his family pride). It hadn’t worked like that- their games were different and the perseverance and the hardship he had gone under in the service of his Lord had been worse.
Worth, it had been, though.
