Dear Mother,
I want to wish you and everyone the happiest of holidays. After all, this is Kai's first Yule and the first Yule for Kyle and I as husband and wife. It's quite exciting.
Kai is quite the bundle of cheery energy, like his father. And grandfather. And apparently his uncle Ferid too. I suppose the eldest of us eight gave you and Father the most trouble, hm? But Kyle does truly enjoy getting our little boy to smile. There's nothing sweeter to watch than Kyle playing with Kai. They are my joy and my everything - my entire world. I love them both so very much and I'm so very thankful to have them in my life.
I wish you were here to share my joy and to keep Father company, as I'm sure he must be lonely despite his constant goofing off. I don't think you and Father have ever been apart this long, even when he was away at sea. And no matter how happy I might be right now, it's still not the same without you and all my brothers and sisters.
I miss you and hope that I will be able to see you again soon.
