Character name: Sealand | Wendy Kirkland
Fandom: Axis Powers Hetalia: Nyotalia
Timeline: December 20th, 2006
Age: looks 12, is actually about 60 years old (her official birthday is September 2nd 1967, but nations tend to be around for a while before they become official and canon seems to indicate that she has been around since the platform was built, which would make her 62.)
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: Nation-immortal; made of steel; she can transform into a robot of roughly the same size as she normally is, but the robot's functions resemble that of a model robot and are equally limited (though she can move/talk etc)
How would they use their abilities?: To show off (which would fail) and to help friends. All in all she's just a normal 12-year old girl though who up until now has relied on her big sister when she got in trouble (while she has her roots in WW2, she wasn't really around back then and has never been a fighter herself).
Appearance: She is a girl of twelve years, but her body is still that of a child and she hasn't yet started to really develop any curves (if she tried to wear a bra, it would probably be an AAA or smaller). She has a head, otherwise it would rain into her chest. She also has arms and legs, two each, and a torso to connect all the other parts. Her hair is blond, long and in pigtails. She usually wears a sailor dress and a blue hat. She has shock blue eyes with huge, dark eyebrows over them, a rather round face with a snub nose in it and relatively large eyes. She is fair skinned but not light enough to have freckles. She is about 140 cm tall and of average weight.
Background/Personality: Two things are important when it comes to judging Sealand's actions: She is not only very young for a nation (until Wy came around, she was the youngest canonical nation) and from the very beginning, she has had nobody who supported her or even recognized her as what she is - worse even, she was not even recognized as a colony, special administrative division or even as a county. She was simply not there. This is the reason why she clings so hard to England having claimed her to not be a part of his territory twice and to the one (not exactly pleasant) visit of one of Germany's ambassadors, and tries to be recognized so hard. Not being a human, but not being recognized as anything nation-like is not easy on someone who is in body, mind and age still a child.
This does not mean that she is a sad or bitter girl, though. She is in fact very lively, boastful, caring, open minded and described as having a "small body but a big heart" by the author. Sealand can recover from shocks very quickly by being an unshakable optimist. She makes friends easily even when the fact that the other person exists should be a downer for her, and will try to cheer others up and offer them her friendship even if they are near strangers. The only downside to her approach to other people that she will initially try to be the "older sister"/"their senior" as soon as she sees the chance, because then they will need her and have to remember her - and that usually is perceived as her being weird, stupid or arrogant. Sealand is also a hard worker: Having few citizens who actually life on her lands and can do repairs, she does a large part of them herself, and despite the others not recognizing her, she will attend UN-meetings in the hopes of getting someone to talk to her during breaks.
All of the above aside, she's a normal girl her age. She loves sweets and festivals, playing with friends and getting presents. When bad things happen, she initially cries and reacts strongly, but later tries to put on a brave facade to look like an adult. She loves video games and TV shows that are geared towards her age. She will expect the big sister that she insults at every turn to come to her help if she is in trouble, like when her house was on fire. She will just in general act like a preadolescent girl when dealing with her "mother"-figure/big sister England (and to be honest, England doesn't behave that much more mature). England never took care of the girl, and thus Sealand does not want to listen to a word that England says (sucks that England is physically stronger). But when the need arises, both will reluctantly and while claiming otherwise care for each other. ....Really, looking at how Sealand reacted to Seborga in the tree (by punching him and wailing/yelling), she probably is the most similar to England out of all siblings and (former) territories that the older sister has. They even look the most alike because they share both hair colour and pigtails.
But they are still very different. Sealand really only goes into tsundere mode when the other person is England, the temper tantrums are more a childish coping mechanism that she should be too old for but still employs due to never having been taught an alternative. Sealand is also a very curious and enthusiastic child who will approach people over things that have picked her interest regardless of them being older, important or busy.
The key differences between male and female Sealand are
- that the "I'm your big sister" thing will show more in trying to baby the other person to death than trying to be the cool older brother
- that she will additionally to calling herself the great Sealand also call herself the "most beautiful" (after all the strongest nation in the world is called "America the beautiful", so being considered pretty must be a part of becoming a great nation)
- that, unless the other person is England, Sealand will show her affection (yes, she would never admit it but she definitely cares for England) through hugs and cuddles and in general be softer about it.
- that, well, she is more interested in things like girl's shows (Peter is a fan of Power Rangers, mechas and shounen series. Wendy would be more into girl's shows like My Little Pony or daily soaps), boy groups, Hello Kitty and things like that.
- that, while Peter doesn't mind girls, he also seems to think of them as friends just like boys are. Wendy would be curious in that field - while not really ready to have a relationship yet, love isn't icky but an interesting adult concept that needs to be explored though means like teen's magazines and love stories.
[Sealand was adopted by Sweden in 2007, and Iceland was sold on the internet even later, so the Nordics don't mean anything to her yet.]

THE GREAT AND MOST BEAUTIFUL SEALAND DEMANDS COMPENSATION.
[A young girl of about 12 years shows up on the screen, hand on her hips, and tries to look angry and awesome at the same time. She also looks like she cried not long ago, but she'll deny that vehemently should it be adressed.]
EVEREYONE WILL HAVE TO GIVE THE GREAT AND MOST BEAUTIFUL SEALAND CHRISTMAS PRESENTS! I'll give you a list of things that I'd like to have if you ask, or you can just give me what you think would be perfect for me!
[For once, she does not demand everyone to recognize her as a nation. After all, the little territory that she had is gone, as is presumably everyone who could have recognized her, unless... unless she was not the only one who was brought here.]
And if any of you have seen a blond woman with glasses and looooong pigtails who is a total jerk, tell her that the great Sealand will comfort her because I have a huge heart and that she doesn't have to worry. [The girl sniffles and then shakes her head. She won't show any weakness.] And if anyone sees a girl who is also blond and a bit older than me and shakes, tell her to come to my place! And tell me that you saw them!
And if any citizens of the Great Sealand are here, contact me! Even if you had fake passports. [Because if any of her citizens are here, she'd at least still have her people, despite having lost her territory...] You're still my citizens at heart!
3rd person sample:
So there was a problem. She needed to learn how to bake a cake, because she wanted to give one to Latvia for her birthday - friends did those things, and her and Latvia were friends now! She did have a kitchen, but she had no idea how to bake a cake. Sure, there were cookbooks, but what if England's (lacking) talents were hereditary? What if the cake would taste like her elder sister's scones? What if Latvia thought that Sealand was making fun of her with an inedible cake?
But never worry! The great and most beautiful Sealand would find a way. She would succeed, and she already had a plan in mind. As much as France came to mind when it was about cooking, she really didn't dare to get herself into a sitution where she'd be alone in the room with the continental woman. Too many horror stories about what that "pervert frog" did to "everything that moved". Scotland was no option either, because her foods were a bit scary, and Wales would be impossible to find... Northern Ireland was weird and Ireland seemed to sometimes mix her up with England, which was troublesome.
So the obvious answers - British Isles and France - were out. This was a problem, but not for Sealand. She had heard that Belgium, France's neighbour, almost outdid her when it came to sweets. Okay, waffles, but if the guy excelled at waffles, he might be good at cakes, too. And if Sealand was there already, she could also ask him to recognized her as a nation. Or she could visit his brother Luxembourg - the other girl was almost her age and had a really tiny territory.
She should have thought about that sooner! So she'd ask belgium because of the cake first, then visit Luxembourg, and then... She'd just have to make sure that jerk England didn't hear about any of this. The whole mission would have to be super secret. Like some ninja or spy. Only without the part where she'd fall in love with someone and then get nearly found out and have to shoot people, because while that looked cool on the screen, she was smart enough to know that it really wasn't in real life.
It didn't take long for her to pack everything, look over towards Great Britain to check if England was maybe watching her, and then start the most important quest of the year.
