Uuuunf this is just marvellous.

No really. It is.

He has no friends. People around here think he talks weird and looks too rough around the edges, which he supposes he does to them. Everyone he sees here is soft and smiling and perfectly put together.

I loved that part. I love it, because it seems to be the base of why he can be such a bitch (even though we love him for that) and why he's so rough and yet a little insecure and friendly at the same time.

He quits the next day and he's found a new apartment in a better area by the next week and he manages to get a new job driving a taxi cab by using some connections and-the whole time, he's just thinking, like, shit, why didn't he mind that as much as he should have?At that, I felt the need to give Joe one big hug - running from his own feelings. Aww. Seems very in-character to me, though, and I like how you've incorporated both the mentions of him having worked as a barber, and him having worked as a taxi-driver, though I'm STILL not sure which of the ( ... )

And I'm glad you liked it so much! I'm always endlessly nervous when it comes to new fandoms (although I've actually been in this fandom for years, I just haven't posted anything for it until now) so I'm always glad to hear someone likes it.

One thing I do know about Lieb, he was both a barber and a taxi cab driver. I'm not sure about the specifics (obviously), and I doubt he got the cab driver job because of a gay encounter, but he did both, I made sure. I was super OCD about facts in this fic in general, really, I used to have a full doc of all the sources I had on everything, from that to Web being in Fox Company, but I ended up deleting it because I thought it was a bit overboard, ha.

"Lieb hardly gets mentioned in Parachute Infantry though DDDD: WHYYYY." Bluh, I know right? Lieb was such a recluse after the war, so his account is missing from almost EVERYTHING, I swear, which is a real shame, because he was such an interesting guy. It sometimes makes me ( ... )

I enjoyed this, it has a rather gentle feel to it (especially for Webgott fic) that's different but you still manage to bring in their differences.

Ohmygod. I was going through Camp_Toccoa tags and got to read this. FUCKING BRILLIANT. I adore your characterization of the pair of them. Actually I adore the way your!Joe adores your!Web. ♥ I could quote this entire thing because I am so in looooove with it. Buuut I should def. mention this part:

"And now you have a fuckin' incentive, don't you?" he asks, and the answer is this horribly-wonderfully-slow kiss, that's probably everything Web's ever imagined and then some

Wuhhhhh!! I'm glad you liked it so much. Especially the characterizations. I always worry about that in this fandom, because it gets so "but wait the real guy did this, but did he do that in the miniseries and did the actor mean to add that mannerism or or orrrrrr". Oh BoB fandom, what you do to me...
