i don't know what to do...my husband, chris will be coming home on leave in a couple of months. he wants to visit his parents in IA, but i am in PA. he thinks i should drive all the way out there by myself with our one year old son...what do you guys think? should i try and convince him to fly into PA so we could drive out there together, or ( Read more... )

that sounds like a headache. I think he should go there. does he get to choose his arrival city?

yeah...everyone flys into atlanta then they can choose to connect to the city of their choice, they also get to leave from that city too.

tell him to have his parents come visit you guys in PA, then he can leave from there, and it wont be as much of a hassle ;}

That's what I was going to say! If his parents really want to see him, I'm sure they'll travel. He needs to be more concerned about the safety and convenience of you and your baby.

i definately wouldn't drive that far alone.
maybe take a bus? it'd cost almost as much as gas. well, one way anyway.

He flys to PA and you both fly to IA . American West Airlines has great deals, I got my round trip tickets for me and my two kids for 163 a piece. (from Ontario CA to Houstin Texas) And techically your baby flys for free as a lap baby. Then you buy the vehicle and drive back to PA. Easy enough. You shouldnt drive that many times back and forth with a baby, its much safer and easier to fly.

I would not recommend driving that far with a one year old. . . unless he's super mellow.
