Since we're all posting pictures, I thought I'd offer up some advice. I'm not picking on anyone, I'm just trying to be helpful. It takes awhile to get used to lj codes.

Remove the ** to get the codes to work.

Oh neither did I! It just dawned on me one day that I was posting a LOT of my personal information on livejournal, which isn't a good idea. Had to go thru and change a bunch of pictures I'd posted. I've heard that you're also supposed to block out rank, but I'm really not sure why...*shrug*.

And thank you for the compliment on the dress.

Cutting out rank helps avoid that whole "My husband out ranks your husband" drama.. *winks* Plus it also falls within the cracks of OPSEC.. I know I wouldn't want any random person seeing my husband in uniform with any distinguishing markings, making him easier to pick out.

If only one picture is being posted then I think it's okay to not Lj cut especially if that poster resizes the picture. 600 is a good pixel witdh and 450 is even better depending on the picture.

I didn't even think of blurring out his name tag! Thanks for the tip!

Also, I don't know what I did with lj to do this, but instead of the actual pictures showing up on my friends page, there's an icon that tells me there's a picture. All I do is click on it, and it opens the picture. Do you know what I'm talking about?!

you have to have the pic hosted, like on photobucket, and then you take the url tag or whatever and post it on here using rich text mode. did that help?
