So I joined a group at Smith. The description was so damn funny I just had to share it. So if anyone doesn't know Smith is an all-women's college with a reputation of churning out crazy powerful smart women as well as being chock full of crazy lesbians. I don't believe we have anything quite like this at Wellesley. Then again, we don't have quite as strong a reputation for being lesbian, vegan, or crazy. Of course, we get a fair amount of those stereotypes too, with the spoiled little rich girl, man-starved slut, workoholic neurotic, and wild party girl (try reconciling those last two...) stereotypes mixed in. And all I have to say is that the Seven Sisters schools rock. But I'm glad I'm not going to Mount Holyoke.

Did I ever tell you that Ms. Russell wanted me to go to Wellesley from the start, and told me that I "wasn't even allowed to apply" to Mount Holyoke? She told me that at Wellesley I'd end up marrying a Harvard man and changing the world, and that at Mt. Holyoke, I'd end up developing an eating disorder.

Also, regarding school reputations, here's a quote I found amusing (from the Bennington LJ):
