The girl, Morgan, that I posted about yesterday has apparently been found and is on her way home. Rumour has it, her story was posted and crossposted till somebody using Twitter recognised her in Carbondale, Il.
Power of the internet, eh?

Over here in my little part of the world a mini horse who was left to starve and die by his evil owners was rescued and moved to a shelter. He is gaining weight and getting well in the midst of a huge outcry (via facebook which resulted in mass media/TV/print news coverage) because the first judge on the case would not prosecute the owners. (Which leaves the door open for them to reclaim him "Champ" from the shelter.)
As a result? Even if the owners aren't prosecuted (charges have been filed again, new judge) Champ will likely be spirited away if necessary and the owners name, address and phone # is now out there on the net. Bet life is hell for them (and that first judge) and that's as it should be. Justice will be served.

When I was 13, a couple of fellows a girl mate of mine and I found at the fair one day wanted to whisk us away to the Bay Area. I looked them over, ran the scenario through my mind, and thought '...how profoundly stupid that would be'. My friend was rearing to go. I think I told her to write me if she did. She didn't go that day, but she was one of the people whose tracks I'd cover. It was complicated. It wasn't wise of me to do, but...it was complicated.
I hope Morgan's complications can sort themselves out a bit.
