the first day of school commenced without the mercy of time as I smeared makeup on, made my hair look the least bit presentable and rushed out of the house in the clothes from the night before. trying to read parisian poetry in a classroom full of screaming adolescents is ridiculous, as is trying to walk down a hallway without feeling like the most
