Hey, everyone. This is Yamira. If you were brought here by the link in my community's master list page, then I guess you probably want to know more about the author behind the fan prose. If you just clicked on my username from wherever I lurk, then you're either just curious or probably my friend already since you know what you're doing. If, however, you sought this journal out because you REALLY WANT the username; chances are I'm going to just laugh at your face (because HA I HAVE IT AND YOU DOOOON'T), so don't bother. Please.

Oh gee, where do I start? Um, I guess I should start with my name. Hi, my name is Yamira. Well, it's not my real name, but why would I give out my real name just like that? But if you already know my real name, feel free to use it :D

I'm a Fine Arts student majoring in Industrial Design. I've taken courses in Creative Writing before, but I decided to shift when I realized that I can probably work more comfortably as an artist. From my choice of career path, you can probably guess that I love reading, writing and drawing. For the latter two, I'm just above average at them, so don't expect much from me. I'm willing to practice more, especially in the drawing department, but laziness prevents me from doing so.

But even though I get a bit lazy, I can assure you that I'm diligent enough to get a job done. Slowly, but surely. (laughs) I'm very sensitive to criticism (but I accept the importance of it), and I hate it when people judge so easily. I don't like posers, and I really dislike copycats. I'm Catholic, but I don't discriminate other religions; just don't impose your beliefs on me.

→ WRITER'S BLOCK

So far, I've written for fandoms like Yu-Gi-Oh!, Ouran High School Host Club, Death Note, Final Fantasy VII and TVXQ. I have eradicated most of my previous online fan prose for the anime fandoms though. I'm concentrating on TVXQ now, but every now and then I get lured to FFVII and Harry Potter.

My style is flowery and introspective, for which sometimes I have mixed feelings. I love paying attention to detail and offering everything a reader needs to know to understand my characters and plot, but at the same time, as a writer, I want to give my readers free realm to imagine and interpret on their own, thus I sometimes feel drawn to simple but impactful styles of writing. My entries are usually long because of my style, and I can't seem to shorten anything lest I get frustrated about revealing too little.

As for which genres I usually write, I'm pretty versatile. I've tried my hand at drama and comedy numerous times, but I also experimented with smut, sci-fi, fantasy and horror. I'm more likely to write melodramas though, because that's my favorite genre. Still, I am not choosy regarding what genre I write for. If a plot require me to write a totally different and unfamiliar genre, then I will try my hand at it. Experimenting is fun, so I totally recommend it (unless it clashes with your preferences or beliefs).

But I think the one thing that I can't write (as of now) is heterosexual coupling. I dunno why, I just can't do it. I tried once for a friend, but it literally made me cry. Maybe it's because I'm awkward with myself still, but I dunno.

Updating is usually sporadic, because my mood affects my proofreading abilities. I usually finish a story first before I start posting it, but its completed status makes me feel lazy, so I don't update as regularly as I want. I don't abandon stories, though, so even if it's been, like, five years I'm still going to update it. (laughs)

→ READER'S DIET

I'm very finicky when it comes to reading prose, whether original or fan-made. For fan fiction though, I'm very particular with grammar and syntax. I read stories with very minimal grammatical errors and with proper capitalization and format. I hate script format stories. It makes the piece look mechanical and for memorizing. Typographical errors are fine, just as long as they're not frequent. I prefer third person POV to first person, but I'll read the latter if it makes sense (for the plot). If I come across a story with a good premise but bad writing and formatting, I stop reading it. It pains me, believe me, especially if the story is really, really interesting. But ughh, I can't enjoy a story if I have to correct the grammar all the time in my head.

I'm not saying I'm an expert or whatever (because I commit mistakes too), but a story with mediocre styling suggests laziness, and while I too am lazy, I never compromise my stories because I don't feel like pressing the shift key all the time. I'll accept laziness in updating, but in writing your story? I won't ask you to stop writing, but don't blame me if I won't be able to read past the first paragraph.

For TVXQ-specific reading, I mostly read YunJae stories. That is, romantic, bromantic or platonic Yunho and Jaejoong stories. Any genre is fine. I'm squeamish about who's top and who's bottom though, and I would rather have Yunho top. I can't read JaeHo. If the world were ending and I would need to read JaeHo to stay alive, I would rather kill myself. Seriously, I'm that against it. It wasn't for lack of trying though; I ended up not finishing one JaeHo story, flailing and making disgusted noises. I'm sorry, I wish I could be more open about it (I like the whole equal, let's-switch theme though), but I can't. Read. JaeHo.

On occasion, I read JaeMin, but Changmin has to top. I can't read any story with Yunho paired with someone other than Jaejoong. It makes me feel awful for some reason. Threesome is an abomination to me, not because it's "kinky," but because to me it isn't wholesome. It's usually lustful in nature, and as a hopeless romantic, I don't find it appealing to read at all. I can tolerate it as a side-pairing, but ughh.

But basically, if a story with a good plot is written well, chances are I'll read it. Whether I continue reading till the end is up to me, but that's life I guess.
