my car

well ive been talking to my mom about getting a new car and shes saying I either need a new car or need to get everything in my current car replaced. so ive come up with a little speech about why i think i need a new car.

Okay some things have been brought to my attention about getting a new car. I’m not trying to be a “whiny teenager” or just want something or anything like that. I’ve come to notice that my car has some problems. For one, the vibration in my car has gotten much worse. Pretty much, if you hit 45 mph in my car, the car shakes rapidly and just gets worse as you increase speed. My car also now bounces if you go less than 20 mph. So pretty much you have to stay about 30 mph and less than 45 if you want to feel “normal”. I just feel unsafe driving on freeways now because I feel like I’m going to break something in my car if I go not even 5 miles over the speed limit. Another thing is my window. I’ve talked about this before but now I’m just missing the wind in my hair. I can’t even do the simplest task as going through a drive-thru. When I’m babysitting the girls and Marty wants me to take them out to get food, I have to take them inside the fast food place to get them their food. And just today when I picked up mom from Camelback Toyota, again the person working the front office looked at my car and asked me AGAIN if I was trading in my car. He also just chuckled as I opened my door to talk to him. It’s just getting worse with me. I have seriously thought about getting a new car. And I’ve also thought about the job scene. I know that would help me a lot if I had a job so I’m going to look desperately for one and try where ever. I would pay the car payments also for the new car. It wouldn’t actually be new, it’d be used. But I’d most likely go from a sell by owner instead of a used car lot. I understand because of Hawaii if you wouldn’t want to get me a new car, but if you couldn’t get me a new car, I’d like to look into getting some parts repaired. I understand that the last time you went to Ford, they told you that it was the motor mount that was needing replacing and that it would cost around $1000 to repair. Also, the window motor would cost too. I know this is a stretch but I have talked to you before about getting a paint job so that my seats, dashboard, ceiling, and exterior wouldn’t all have the same color [even though forest green is your favorite.] I have thought a lot about this but my primary thoughts are mostly on the window and the vibration. I would understand about the paint job. I just really need to get the vibration down to a dull roar and get my window fixed. It’s really the simple things in life that I want.  But really, I’d just like an inexpensive car, one also that isn’t a boat. Fred is a monster to park, even though I’ve almost mastered it after a year of driving. Fred just has a lot of problems with him, some important, some not so much. I’m just going to point out some problems with him though. The gas tank… the button for the gas tank is no longer operating. I now have to use my keys to prop open the gas tank to fill up Fred. The dents in my car… It’s really not that big of a problem for me because I still think it adds character to him. The back seat right hand side window button and “trash can”… Shannon decided she wanted to play with it one day and it now is almost detachable. My door panel… we haven’t quite found the time to replace the missing screws on my door so it seems to be falling off the hinges. My locks in the back… the tops have fallen off so anyone in the back has to wait for me to open the doors and pretty much always remind me to. But yet all of that isn’t really affecting me too much. Still just vibration and windows.
I have looked into Kelley Blue Book and looked at the trade-in prices for Fred. For a private party, our 1995 forest green 3.0 liter V6 GL Sedan 4D with front wheel drive is valued at $2,025 for a trade-in with 84,000 miles, air conditioning, power steering, power windows [for the most part], power door locks, tilt wheel, cruise control, AM/FM radio, single compact disc, and dual front air bags, in fair condition. Also for all of that as a trade-in, Fred’s valued at $1,040. For the suggested retail value for Fred, he would be $3,875. That’s quite a difference for all the values. I just want to show you that I’m not just a whiny teenager begging mommy & daddy for their money; I’m really interested in getting a new car, getting a job, paying for car payments and for safety. Thank you for your time. 
