So my mother brought the newspaper home and here it is.
ALLEN PARK- A group of men allegedly pointed guns at a man who complimented them about the wheels on their vehicle.
They were arrested shortly afterward for felonious assault, and police also found peculiar items in their 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The four men and one teen-ager were driving in the Trailblazer when a man in another vehicle admired their wheels, which had shiny silver rims.
After his comment, words were exchanged, and passengers Christopher Michael Roberts and Sean Daniel Tipler allegedly each pointed a gun at the man.
No shots were fired, and the man called police.
Officers Kevin Gersky and Christopher Granica pulled the Trailblazer over on Southfield and Colwell and orderded the occupants out.
Police Sgt. Jeffrey Rimer and Officer Daniel Cerroni found two guns in the vehicle.
Police also found numerous flashlights and several neoprene facemasks, which are made of a synthetic rubber that is highly resistant to oil, heat and light.
Police said the men also had handcuff keys on their keychains and a pair of handcuffs from the Wayne County Sheriff's Department in the vehicle.
Detective Sgt. Larry Jones said police do not know yet if the men have been involved in robberies or why they had the handcuffs.
The driver, Benjamin Lee Foster, 35, of Brownstown Township, as well as Roberts, 21, of River Rouge and Tipler, 22, of Taylor were arrested. They were arraigned over the weekend.
All three are being chared with carrying a concealed weapon, felonious assault and felony firearms.
Roberts and Tipler also have been charged with the commission of a felony with a motor vehicle advisory.
Tipler, who has six charges against him, is accused of an additional firearms offense and for being a four-time habitual offender.
Bond was set at $5,000/10 percent for each of them. A preliminary examination of the evidence against them is set for 9 a.m. Monday before 24th District Judge John Courtright.
The teen-ager and the fourth passenger were not charged.
