nutrition in america is a joke. most people have no idea what they are talking about. i think that you are doing the right thing and you are being misunderstood.

My heart goes out to you, Laura. That's a tough situation, but you handled it as well as you could have. Is there such a thing as a sane hippie?
At any rate, come over for granola sometime and talk to me about Food Day. Why the heck haven't I been told?
This is Alvin, by the way!

Laura, although I'm basically the 5 meal person with meat and potatoes as the usual main course, you are being completely reasonable and considerate of your roommates. You probably are ahead of your time here in the Midwest, but this is good. Definitely good. I'm glad that you basically eat vegetarian meals! I should learn to..

Dear Laura,
I love and miss you. I love that you are so passionate about your convictions and that you are willing to have difficult discussions/arguments about them instead of putting them on the back burner. You are definitely going against the midwest "norms" and if nobody does that, no one will ever leave their comfort zones. I would love to come over for Wednesday dinner and eat your delicious meal!

I'm not as good of a cook as you, but you should come over some evening or Sunday afternoon and I'll try to cook a "weird" meal.
