Good post, really sorry about everything; I know what you mean when you say people dont want to be like their parents but end up like them anyway. It's a big deal...

Hey Laura,

I have always thought about how distraught I would be if my parents were to ever sell our home, so in a way, I know how you feel (minus the other crap you've had to deal with). This is a place that you have lived for so long and created so many memories in. It's a place in which you feel comfortable and safe. I hope that you can get through it okay.

You are always welcome to come up to the north country and stay with me. We have a giant veggie garden, you'd be in your glory!

Miss you tremendously!

When our house in Michigan was on the market, our family would have to leave for a few hours for viewings. I don't remember where we went, which is strange because how often does a family, with kids in college and high school, get an hour or two to drive away in one car, all five of them, together? Coming back home from wherever we went, the house would be empty and, often, the lights all be on. All of our furniture would be in the same place, our books open to the same pages, and still, though it was our house, it would smell like someone else were living there. And those times were some of the saddest that I remember.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.

ps. our house in Michigan had two huge and thriving gardens. one for veggies, another one completely for flowers. the new owners, I've been told, turned it all into a romping ground for their kids' toys.
