yeah, only problem is they are selective and you have to get in. If not... communications department usually has some amazing projects to get involved with. Everything fine arts at FSU is amazing

I heard fsu's undergrad film program is not that good but its' grad school is amazing.
UM's film school is getting more amazing every year and more recognized.
I currently am majoring in film there and it's pretty sweet.
UM does take bright futures but they only give approx. 1800 per semester instead of full tuition or whatever it is.
USC has an awesome film school and that's where i'd go if i wasn't going here...

well first of all, how desperate is she to go away vs. stay at home? is she more interested in getting a 4 year degree with all the trimmings of a state college experience, or does she just want to get it over with and get to work? what side of filmmaking is she interested in - the filming, the technical, the writing, directing? i personally feel that if she wants to be involved with the creative side of it, the important thing is to get on the same path a regular visual arts student would take and don't worry about film school, per se. and lastly, if she has a school in mind i think it's great advice to IGNORE all the great advice CURRENT students have about the program. try and get the input of someone who has been through it and seen where it's gotten them already. tell her to try and find someone who is where she wants to be and see what they did.

I know lots of people here at UCF that are in the film department, I think claudia's sister's three roomates are all film majors. But yea since its just undergraduate work right now it's more of a matter of how far from home she wants to go to, you know. And we know she doesnt want to go to UF, no one wants to go to school where u are, err.. I mean where their sister is.
